Skip2bfit at Godiva Awakes in CoventryCoventry City Council invited us to take part in the Godiva Awakes Event being held in Coventry. A large model Godiva was built to represent the West Midlands for the Olympic Opening Ceremony. The model has been travelling around the country since the Olympics and the event was organised to celebrate the model coming back to the City.

In the morning there was several activities available for people to have a go at before the main event of the afternoon i.e the return of Lady Godiva. The morning part of the event was organised by the 'Coventry on the Move' team and it included the skip2Bfit skipping challenge, hola hoops, hop scotch and the cycle smoothie maker.

We were very busy on the day with plenty of people keen to take part in the two minute skip2Bfit challenge as can be seen from these pictures below. We had over 200 people take part in the skipping. all of the skippers were given a skip2bfit rope for taking part. Blueberries were also handed out on the day to encourage healthy eating as well as keeping active. As usual skip2Bfit was tweeting on the day . The top skipper was a school caretaker Darren Oughton who did 336 skips in two minutes and who was so impressed he said he would tell his school all about skip2Bfit.
